Optician leads the way: key research highlights

In July/August 2007, we carried out a wide-ranging piece of research among readers of Optician and Optometry Today. Respondents did not find out who commissioned the research until the end of the questionnaire.

We discovered that:

  • Eye care professionals are COMMITTED readers of Optician, with 92% of respondents reading Optician, 72% of them regularly
  • 66% of eye care professionals PREFER Optician to Optometry Today
  • Optician is the PREFERRED read among respondents from all business types, including: multiples, independents, franchises, manufacturers, locums, educational establishments, hospitals, PCTs and domiciliaries
  • 91% rate Optician as EXCELLENT or GOOD
  • 86% of those with an opinion say Optician is BEST for JOBS
  • Since our redesign, 21% of readers now spend even LONGER reading Optician

Optician leads the way: marketshare trends

Over the last 12 months, Optician's share of the display market has increased from 54% to 57.6%

And in the recruitment sector, Optician's share of the market has increased in the same period from 65.4% to 71.1%

Optician looks great, has great content and is well loved by its readers. It is the best place for your advertising.
