Over 250 delegates attended last month's Macular Disease Society's conference on low vision.
The conference, held in Bristol attracted optometrists, dispensing opticians, ophthalmologists and low vision aid suppliers to share latest trends and ideas.
Tom Bremridge, chief executive of the MDS, said: 'The most dramatic development is that of eccentric reading. This is a method of making use of peripheral vision to read, which can be taught.'
