Sales of ReNu remain suspended in Singapore and Hong Kong
Author: Rob Moss

Bausch & Lomb is continuing to work with officials in Singapore and Hong Kong following the abnormally high number of reports of fungal keratitis in the two cities.

Sales of ReNu branded product are still suspended as the company continues to emphasise that there is still no evidence that the market-leading solution is the cause or is in any way connected to the spike of fungal cases.

The Singapore Ministry of Health has reported that poor compliance is a factor in most of the cases reported there.

In a statement on Friday, B&L reiterated that ‘there have been no unusual spikes in reports of fungal keratitis in other markets and thus Bausch & Lomb does not believe it is appropriate to consider similar actions elsewhere’.
