Specsonthenet launches frame selection software

An on-line spectacle supplier and laboratory has introduced a virtual modelling software system which enables customers to select frames by viewing themselves wearing them.

Cardiff-based FocusFix has developed the VMS software, enabling patients to upload a photo, select frames from a catalogue which are automatically resized to fit the image and try various tint options.

Ex-Dollond & Aitchison laboratory manager Jonathan Birch, who devised FocusFix, said that he is in negotiations to work alongside two local opticians to test his idea of using the software in-practice.
