Nearly 80 delegates attended the latest imaging seminar organised by Haag-Streit UK in Manchester last week. Speaking at the event, consultant ophthalmologist Mike Lavin spoke of his excitement at the potential for the new anti-VEGF treatments for wet AMD.
Optician clinical editor Bill Harvey described diabetic retinopathy grading under the new National Screening Programme, but voiced some concerns about patient uptake if asked to change practices for assessment. Trevor Warburton, one of the workshop conveners for the day, pointed out that in many areas patient movement was less of an issue and expressed confidence in the robustness of the new programme.
During July 2007, Haag-Streit UK will be holding an advanced imaging seminar in its Harlow head office, focusing on the Heidelberg HRT3 and HRA2.
