Online seller buys competitor

Internet entrepreneur Andre Senyk has bought out a competitor to his online business SpeckyFourEyes.com, a company selling ready-readers called Speccy4Eyes Ltd.

Senyk said the confusion caused by the similar name encouraged him to launch a non-hostile takeover, resulting in a further 10,000 customers being added to the SpeckyFourEyes.com database.

The company received a further boost after Senyk was presented with the Success in Business Award 2007 from Anglia Ruskin University where he completed his BSc in Optical Management.

'I made the right move and now all the hard work is paying off,' said Senyk. 'Almost all optics graduates from Anglia Ruskin University work for high street optical stores. I've gone against the grain and made a success of it.

'SpeckyFourEyes.com is giving the high street opticians something to think about,' he added.
