Silmo, the French optical exhibition held at the Porte de Versailles convention centre in Paris has changed its dates for the 2009 event to Thursday September 17 to Sunday 20 from dates previously scheduled in November.
Having already told Optician of its intention to bring forward the dates (News, June 13) a Silmo spokesperson explained the move was to better respond to the demands of manufacturers.
'Silmo is used as the principal event for the launch of sunglasses,' she said. The spokesperson added that many manufacturers finish their sun frame collections in September.
