Sight loss help to be debated

A meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Eye Health and Visual Impairment will meet next month to discuss the emotional impact of sight loss on people.

Rates of depression are at least twice as high among older visually impaired people as in the general population, according to the APPG.

The aim of the meeting will be to hear an overview of the current support services on offer and consider recommendations for change.

The meeting will take place on July 8 in London. To register to attend, email Ellen Colquhoun at the College of Optometrists: ellen.colquhoun@college-optometrists.org
