Reykjavik designer tours UK

The designer behind the Reykjavik Eyes frame collection, Icelander Gunnar Gunnarsson (pictured), starts a country-wide tour in Glasgow on March 24 to mark the brand's one-year anniversary.

Dispensing optician Gunnarsson will be giving one-to-one presentations of the award-winning brand, including a preview of the nine new styles due for release in April, which are available to pre-order.

The one-piece titanium design Reykjavik Eyes, which has received the Universal Design Award 2009 and Reddot Design Award for Product Design 2009, was developed while Gunnarsson was working in practice and designed to deliver comfort and performance.

Speaking about the success to date in the UK, he said: 'I'm really looking forward to meeting the people in the practices who are making the difference to patient's eye care and I hope I'll be able to help them maximise the potential of Reykjavik Eyes. We're working hard to continually evolve the range and to keep the story exciting. I'm thrilled to be able to give the practices a preview of the latest nine styles, hot from their first showing at Mido.'
