Neovascular glaucoma
Neovascular glaucoma is always secondary to ocular ischaemia, typically conditions that result in retinal capillary non-perfusion and retinal hypoxia. Glaucoma - Visual field defects
The optic neuropathy caused by glaucoma involves the loss of retinal nerve fibres and therefore the visual field defects correspond to their anatomical disposition in the fundus. Superior and inferior retinal nerve fibres terminate at and form the horizontal raphé, and therefore glaucomatous visual field loss typically respects the horizontal midline. 30 March 2007

Glaucoma - Visual field assessment
The examination of the visual field in relation to glaucoma should be directed towards detecting visual field loss at the earliest possible stage of development, and carefully monitoring the visual field over time to help assess the efficacy of a treatment regimen. 23 March 2007
