We are currently working with a leading multiple in the Durham area who are now recruiting for an Optometrist to join their reputable team.
As an Optometrist your role will be to conduct thorough eye examinations, contact lens assessments and contact lens aftercare to the highest professional standards. To deliver exceptional customer service every day, to meet and exceed the customer’s needs and to demonstrate our company philosophy of total customer satisfaction.
Your day-to-day responsibilities are as follows:


- To exercise clinical judgement with regard to current “Best Practice” and college guidelines.

- To be responsible for any clinical duties such as optometric initial exams, visual field screening and contact lens wear and cares in a clear and professional manner.

- To demonstrate flexibility with respect to the appointment book system and respect patient appointment times.

- To recommend available products and services in order to achieve an informed and satisfied customer in a clear and concise manner.

- To continually gain product knowledge and strive to ensure participation in all available optometric training programmes, seminars and company organised CET.

- To ensure that the statutory CET requirement is met.

- To communicate any professional information to store management that may either affect the quality of product or customer service.

- To play an active role in the presentation of the contact lens and optometric initial exam areas, including consulting room.

- To play an active role in the provision of in-store training for associate store team.

- To check all completed jobs against original prescription.

- To ensure that your recommendations for the customer are effectively communicated to the associate in the presence of the customer.



You will be assisted in your optometric duties by the capable optical assistants who will carry out the pre-screening of the patients. Your consulting room is equipped to a high standard enabling you to have confidence in providing your patient with a comprehensive sight test.
The role is open to either newly qualified Optometrists or those with extensive experience. The location also provides a wide ranging patient base for those seeking variety. This is an excellent opening to join a reputable multiple where professionalism and customer care are paramount.
