Flame Health Optometry - Optometrist Job - Grimsby, Lincolnshire:
We are currently recruiting for an Optometrist to join this highly successful practice based in Grimsby
Established for 250 years, this company has a network of almost 400 stores nationwide, employing 600 qualified opticians, 250 dispensing opticians and over 350 optometrists.
Dedicated to providing a quality service, the company ensures all of its staff are trained to the highest standard by ensuring all new staff complete an intensive 3 month training programme followed by ongoing training to aid in continuous development.
Job Purpose:
To maximise customer service, sales and profit through the delivery of outstanding eyecare and the development, leadership and coaching of their team to deliver first for service, and exceptional business results
Accountabilities:
Teams
- Proactively coaching and developing colleagues to support succession planning
- Identify within the BLT the clinical, commercial and behavioural development needs of colleagues
- Agree with Branch Manager regular (at least once per month) eye test observations to share feedback/coaching for improved recommendations and performance
- Take responsibility for the delivery of clinical training, and support your Branch Manager with non-clinical training
- Actively participate in all branch training and focus meetings and take responsibility for the running of them
- Support Optical Advisers with the completion of their workbooks
- Support other clinical colleagues with their development
- Develop the clinical skills of colleagues to enable delegation of appropriate functions to support business performance
- Fully support colleagues undergoing career development programmes i.e. IMP/MAP/GRO/SDO
- Praise & recognise the achievement of colleagues
Standards:
- Maintain and develop clinical, behavioural and commercial standards in line with company expectations
- Deliver eye examinations and contact lens appointments in line with company expectations
- Maintain consistent clinical competence and compliance through Continuous Education and Training and ongoing Professional Development
- Ensure accurate, comprehensive, legible and timely completion of record cards, NHS paperwork and all other administration
- Ensure excellence in personal appearance, branch housekeeping and hygiene
- Ensure security and maintenance of optical equipment in branch
- Address any clinical concerns through peer review with fellow clinicians
- Attend all company training and communication sessions
Service:
- Exceed Customer Expectations
- Recommend all appropriate eye care solutions to all customers, and explain their respective benefits in order that they may make an informed choice
- Treat each customer as an individual, providing them with full explanations throughout the customer journey
- Regularly perform (at least one of each per week) contact lens checks and assessments
- Ensure that every customer receives a clear recommendation and 3 way handover to a colleague
- Take responsibility for the development of effective pre-screening routines
- Observe, feedback and coach colleagues on the delivery of the customer journey to address identified issues
- Participate in local shared care schemes where appropriate and agreed by the Company
- Update the regional team on any changes in local PCT/HA/HB protocols
- Be prepared to cover other local branches when required by the business
Business:
- Deliver the Branch Sales Plan
- Take personal responsibility for delivering agreed branch and individual targets
- Work with the BLT to support the management of the scheduling grids to fully utilise clinical resource, adapting a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business
- Take personal responsibility for understanding the underlying reasons for both personal and branch performance, and deliver necessary improvements
- Follow up dispenses with customers and colleagues to understand how we can maximise the performance of the branch
