Wiltshire based Optometrists need look no further than this excellent opportunity with this chain of independent Opticians that have been established since the 1940’s.
There are three braches all within a 10 mile radius of each other. The practices have a vast and loyal patient database, and have benefited from a contemporary cutting edge, without compromising on the charm and intimacy the practices have developed throughout their history.
They are looking for an Optometrist with a friendly, caring attitude but one that is also commercially aware - to help drive the business forward and help them grow.
Ideally the right person will have been qualified for at least two years. The testing times are 30 minutes but the successful candidate would need to be able to carry out contact lens checks and test children at 20 minute intervals (3 in an hour) where possible. The first test of the day is at 9am and last test at 4.30pm with an hour break for lunch. Pre-screening is not carried out, and the Optometrist is expected to carry out the fields tests.
The practice currently uses 3 regular locums for the majority of their Optometry cover, but to improve consistency they would now like to employ a full time Optom. Hence the opportunity.
The working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and Saturday until 2pm, with a day off on any day (they have no objections to employing Monday to Friday with Saturdays off if necessary). The client is prepared to be a little flexible for the right candidate.
Two of the practices are in high street positions and one is in a secondary location. Parking is not a problem at any practice and there is a train station within 5 minutes walk at each location.
The patient mix is quite varied in respect of NHS to private ratio, but they also have a large number of patients over 60. All 3 premises are fully functional, one practice has been refitted, they are about to start completely refitting the other two.
The successful candidate will be involved in choosing their equipment for the testing rooms in the practices. There is a supportive team in place along with the two partners who are Dispensing Opticians. They will do their best to assist and make the role as enjoyable as possible.
