Programme Director-Optometry - Edinburgh

Part-time - 22.5 hours per week
Applications are invited from experienced and highly motivated registered Optometrists to lead a major new work stream for NES. Joining a dynamic organisation, and leading a small team, you will deliver NES corporate objectives and lead on educational research and development for the optometric sector. As well as providing specialist, expert optometric advice, you will also lead national educational initiatives and have responsibility for long-term strategic planning.
You must have a degree in Optometry and be working in a community based practice in Scotland. In addition, you will also display significant experience in training and education for Optometrists. With a proven track record in change management, you will be able to evidence highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills which will enable you to engage easily with a range of stakeholders. Strong decision making skills and a strategic vision will be central to your success.
Due to the nature of this post, extensive travel throughout Scotland and the UK will be required. This post is offered for 22.5 hours per week, however, NES will seek, by mutual agreement, to accommodate the requirements of candidates who wish to work in a flexible way e.g. by a job share arrangement or by a consolidated monthly hours contract.
