Love Your Lenses Week shares life stories

Optical practices have signed up to raise awareness of safe contact lens wear ahead of this year’s Love Your Lenses Week on September 4-10.  

The first 150 British-based practitioners to register for the campaign were sent a printed and online resource pack, including t-shirts, stickers and posters.  

The campaign was led by the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) and highlighted the benefits of wearing contact lenses and shared stories of life-changing impacts.  

Luke Stevens-Burt, chief executive of the BCLA, said: ‘The BCLA is passionate about the role contact lenses play in eye health and we know eye care professionals around the world are too. They can change lives for the better and we want the eye health community to join us as we share important messages with the public about contact lenses.  

‘We want to inspire eye care professionals to get talking about contact lenses and highlight the importance of high-quality aftercare for continued healthy lens wear; and also sourcing their contact lenses from reputable, legal retailers.’
