RNIB appoints 100th Eclo

Renu Walia became the 100th Eclo

A milestone has been reached by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) as the charity appointed its 100th eye clinic liaison officer (Eclo).

Renu Walia became the 100th Eclo and provides patient support at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield, Barnet Hospital and Edgware Community Hospital.

Walia is severely sight impaired and will work alongside health professionals to offer support and advice to blind and partially sighted people in hospital.

David Clarke, director of services at the RNIB, said: ‘RNIB is delighted to have appointed its 100th Eclo and I would like to thank the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust for working with us to make this possible. This is a significant milestone for RNIB and another step in making sure no-one receives a diagnosis without support.’
