I am lucky enough to get to see lots of new optical products and this week has been a real corker.

Top billing has to go to the flatpacked Menicon lens from David Thomas Contact lenses.

It looks quite ordinary at first glance but turn it sideways....and.....................................

Norville in Gloucester also usually reveals something interesting when I visit and the latest trip was no exception. It has some really nice crossover product coming up. Progear Optical is suitable for the office or the gym,  range of styles are available with a wrap and also has some neat touches such as neat headband fixings. Norville also gave a sneaky peek of some Drivewear branded sunwear and the latest from Duck and Cover. The Drivewear product is very classic and very nice looking. best of all it uses the Optician Award winning Drivewear lens which is a real performance product.

Keeping the sunwear theme Liteforce from RayBan is a super new product. It lives up to it's Moniker of being very light. It's brand new and (sadly) I didn't take any photos but I think it's going to make a bit of a splash.

More classic with a modern twist is the foldable Ray Ban Aviator. A really fun sunglass but practical with it.

The olympics is almost upon us and Oakley has been showing off its licensed olympics products. Sadly they are not a sponsor so the atheletes won't be wearing them in the games but it you want to fly the flag withour having to carry one this could be the way to go. All we need now is some sun.
