Theo has been shouting about its Marmaluke model which has been nominated to be among the most beautiful things in the world.

I must admit to being more drawn to some soon to be released models based on old cycling heroes and brands they have lent their names to. Merckx, Moser, Bianchi and Basso frames are made of two different plastic plates, the majority of which were developed especially for theo. The plates differ in motif and can even vary in colour: sometimes shade on shade, sometimes contrasting.

The motif at the top of the frame and corners differs from the rest of the spectacles. The result is that the eyes are given extra emphasis from above. For men this means more emphasized eyebrows, and for women make-up for the eyes. Think I'll stick with my Oakley and Rudy Project.
Made from silk sheen metal with marbled acetate, model KM0082 for women is the latest addition by the Optoplast Actman Eyewear Company to the Karen Millen eyewear collection. Available in black, café brown and raspberry red, the frame features the Karen Millen logo etched on its temples. In the run-up to Christmas, every purchase of 15 Karen Millen frames entitles practitioners to a free imitation diamond encrusted bracelet worth £75, or a diamanté necklace worth £85 from Karen Millen’s Glitterati range of jewellery for a purchase of 18 frames. Maui Jim has launched the world’s first sun readers with patented PolarizedPlus 2 UV and glare protection suitable for both long-distance and close-up activities.
|
The Maui Readers’ design incorporates a reader lens encased in polycarbonate and frames are available in either gloss black or Grilamid TR90. Maui Readers are offered in two styles, Makaha (top), which is suitable for men’s and women’s facial shapes and Ho’okipa, designed to complement larger faces.
Both are available with a choice of neutral grey or HCL bronze lenses with add powers of +1.50, +2.00 and +2.50. The PolarizedPlus 2 UV feature enhances colours and heightens contrast, while lenses are distortion-free with a waterproof coating.
The sunglass manufacturer has also launched a fourth lens colour option, Maui High Transmission (HT) lenses.
According to the company, the lenses are suitable for changeable and low level light conditions as they provide greater visibility while boosting colour, contrast and depth of field.
Featuring Maui Jim’s PolarizedPlus 2 technology, the HT lens material is a fusion of SuperThin glass and polycarbonate.
