I note the latest article in Optician, "Active Ageing" shows an elderly gentleman about to beat seven bells out of a piece of metal on a old rusty anvil with a old rusty hammer…..he is not wearing any eye protection at all which is a major mistake!
He has a sticking plaster on one finger suggesting he has not got such a good aim with the hammer!
Who chooses these photos for these articles?
Shame on them!
I suppose the next article will be about removing metallic foreign bodies from the elderly eye………………………………
You would think that journal staff would look at the photographic illustrations with a bit more in depth thought.
Yes it does demonstrate an elderly man being active but if he carries on like that he is going to get a metallic sliver in his eye at some point.
Let us get all get old - but safely!
