I also qualified about the same time and have been dispensing full time since than ,i have keep up to date with all the new products etc ,but as he says the fundimental optics do not change. I do enjoy doing the CET but my problem next year will be getting to venues as I run my practice on my own (since my husband passed away) and find it impossible to get to places without disrupting my business. Weymouth is not exactly close to any major towns where the seminars are held. just to raise the point again who will pay for my expenses and lose of business. not all Opticians have endless resources or staff to cover for these events, which in my opinion will not teach me any more than I can read for myself. It would be ashame if I have to cease working because the people who are earning large amounts of money for these courses have made it compulsive for me to attend .
