Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most common, life-threatening inherited diseases in Caucasians, currently affecting over 7,500 individuals in the UK. CF is characterised by lung disease, a high sodium chloride concentration within the sweat and CF-Related Diabetes (CFRD). Other features include male infertility and pancreatic insufficiency which can ultimately lead to malnutrition.
