Entries from optical professionals who feel they can change the lives of those living with eye disorders are being sought with the launch of the 2008 Ophthalmology Innovation Awards.

As part of the Medical Futures Innovation Awards 2008, the award enables successful entrants to secure up to £500,000 of research and development funding. Winners also have the added benefit of having access to a support network to develop their ideas in addition to gaining critical endorsement and recognition.

The award will be judged by ophthalmology experts and entries can be at any stage from concept to a trading business. Closing date is June 13 2008.
