ABDO reports passing of Diarmid MacArthur

The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has reported that Diarmid MacArthur, dispensing optician and owner of Look Opticians in Erskine since 1986 until his recent retirement, has sadly passed away unexpectedly.

MacArthur and his wife Joan, an optometrist, were described as a huge part of their local community, delivering eye care to many generations of local residents. The DO was also a regular at CPD events, providing insightful and relevant contributions, with a sense of humour.

Beyond optics, MacArthur transferred his excellent communication skills to writing fiction, publishing six novels, with a seventh due to be published in September. He was also an accomplished rower and member of the local club in the town of Lochwinnoch.
