Dispensing optician Andre Senyk has been named as a regional finalist in the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition for his online eyewear website.
Senyk had the idea for his website, speckyfoureyes.com, while studying at Anglia University. After working in a high street optician for 18 months he decided to set up the web venture. He is adopting the same stance as other website retailers by highlighting the product mark-ups made by high street opticians but claims the fact he is a registered optician makes a defining difference. 'Buying glasses online is not just a passing fad, it's here to stay,' he said.
