CooperVision has announced plans to build a technical, commercial and business hub in Southampton that is set for completion in 2026. The Vision Centre would bring together its UK research and development team, the global technical innovations group, as well as commercial and business divisions.
Debbie Olive, president for EMEA at CooperVision, said: ‘We are proud to be a global leader in the contact lens category and this investment highlights our commitment to providing world-class environments that enable colleagues to be at their absolute best at work.’
The 10,000 sqm site would have eco-friendly design elements and have capacity for over 400 employees, who would be able to use a wellbeing suite and versatile workspaces. CooperVision said its new Vision Centre was part of the company’s strategy to develop the workforces of tomorrow by focusing on place, people, value and sustainability.
It sought to create world-class work environments, ensure outstanding work experience, develop smart workplaces that enhanced efficiency and committed to practices that benefited people and the planet. CooperVision’s US-based research and development team would also integrate with its corporate headquarters in California under the same concept.
