One of the biggest events in the optical calendar, Opti Munich – ‘the international trade show for optics and design’ – takes place this January in the ancient German city of Munich. Last year, the show played host to 667 exhibitors from 40 countries and had almost 30,000 attendees, 94% of whom gave the show high approval ratings.

Already one of the biggest international trade shows, Opti Munich is expanding this year with the extension into halls C5 and C6 – making six in total. Organisers say it will allow them to cover a ‘broader spectrum of the ophthalmic industry’.

Accompanying the expansion is a new format. A dedicated Opti Showcase area will see ‘experts for every subject’ provide attendees with information and advice on all ‘touchpoints’ of a patient journey. Awakening interest in customers, facilitating impulse purchases, establishing customer loyalty and overall business strategy will all be discussed.

Opti Forum will also deliver myriad lectures and debates on a range of issues, covering topics from ‘marketing mix’ to ‘young talent and succession’. Lectures take place throughout the three days of the show.
