In the space of two years, Specsavers Loughborough has gone from employing a single CLO to having two, plus support staff and dispensing team proficient in dispensing contact lenses.
Retail director Paul Cooper (pictured centre holding the trophy) knew when he arrived at the practice in 2016 that a recruitment drive and change of culture would be required.
Establishing active links with the town’s large student population, child patients and embracing the advantages of converting to daily wear became the central pillars of progress.
Following the transition, the practice’s contact lens business went from a decade of flat growth to boasting 30% growth after six months, which has now steadied to ‘double digit growth’.
