Equipment review: the Revo OCT

Bill Harvey tries out the latest OCT from Optopol, a significant step forward from its previous version with a very simple one button operation

It is six years since I had a look at the original Copernicus OCT. Popular in the United States, the instrument is not so well known over here despite having the functionality expected from a modern spectral domain OCT. Over the last year, Polish manufacturers Optopol have introduced a new version. The Revo is a significant advance on its former incarnation and offers high resolution OCT scans of the retina and anterior structures. Most importantly, these are possible with just one simple press of a button. I recently managed to try out the Revo (UK supplier BIB Ophthalmic Instruments) at the new optometry clinic at Hertfordshire University where it is currently being trialled (figure 1).
