The XXXV European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) Congress took place in Lisbon, Portugal, on October 7-11, 2017. This year a record number of more than 9,800 delegates attended from over 120 different countries. The programme consisted of lectures, posters, videos, instructional courses, wet lab training and practice development sessions, including 17 symposia, around 500 free papers and over 1,200 electronic posters. The interactive poster sessions were particularly popular again this year. There, selected posters were presented by the author, followed by an opportunity to discuss points of interest with attendees (figure 1).
I think this is a great approach and the Poster Village has become a key attraction at the Congress. The FIL Conference Centre venue had also hosted the 8th EuCornea Congress days earlier.
