Max Gavrilenko has made his dreams of developing his own eyewear real with biodegradable Ochi Coffee frames. Optician reports

Max Gavrilenko learned about frames and optics from his father and a childhood spent in the family’s optical business. Since those early years in the Ukraine he dreamt of developing his own eyewear.

That dream has been realised through Ochis Coffee developed by Gavrilenko and claimed to be the world’s first glasses using coffee for the frame.

Gavrilenko, who has been in the optical business for 10 years, says he has worked on thousands of frames from different designers and always wanted to create his own. His venture is based around a Kickstarter funding programme for which he had developed a range of styles for sunglasses and ophthalmic frames.
