Melding Danish design with Japanese innovation, Monoqool is a company justifiably proud of its first 10 years. Simon Jones reports

Not yet 10 years old, Monoqool is a relative newcomer to the established Danish eyewear elite, but dedication to product progression and the role each person plays in the eyewear supply chain.

Formed in 2008, Monoqool was established with a global approach to innovation and design. With a career that has seen spells in Denmark, Japan and the UK, co-founder and CEO Allan Petersen had experiences of how business was conducted in both countries and wanted to put it to good use.

‘After many years as an employee in Danish companies in Japan and the UK, I had the urge to start my own company,’ says Petersen.
