Harmonisation across the European Union is a topic very much in the news at the moment. And so it was as the two principal organisations for optometry and optics in Europe met in May. Hosted by the Polish Optometric Association, Warsaw 2014 attracted more than 270 delegates from 36 countries.

The European Academy of Optometry and Optics was launched in 2009 and developed out of the commitment of the European Council for Optometry and Optics for greater cooperation between practitioners, educators and scientists within Europe, to meet the visual needs of its citizens.
