Yiannis Kotoulas examines the new NHS Wales advice on how practices should implement social distancing once they re-open

NHS Wales has provided guidance on its plan to work towards normal business as the severity of the coronavirus pandemic has begun to lessen.

In a document detailing the plan to restore optometry services, the Welsh health service described a traffic light system that relates the severity of lockdown measures to the severity of the coronavirus situation. The red phase began on March 17 when the government instigated lockdown with specific strict social distancing measures and remains the phase the Welsh health service is currently operating under. In alignment with social distancing measures only 15% of pre-coronavirus primary care activity and service provision has been allowed.
