Andrew McClean finds out how IbisVision’s latest appointment is the next step in the development of facial recognition in remote sight testing

A new phase has started at IbisVision after Will Silva was appointed as lead developer to bring programming of its applications that underwrite its services in-house.

Laura Hillhouse, marketing manager at IbisVision, told Optician it meant the company would work closer and more effectively as a team in the development of its telemedicine solution, as well as with optical practices.

‘With Will’s experience we can ensure the platform is always meeting the demands of the optical community and our commercial partners,’ Hillhouse said.

She added that Silva would lead the development of its core software, which included its new facial recognition technology. Hillhouse explained: ‘Will works closely with the rest of our team to ensure that the platform is meeting the needs of the optical industry, making it a game changing solution for both optometrists and patients.
