Interview: Paul Morris, Director of professional advancement at Specsavers

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Optrafair and it promises to be a celebration of optical innovation and education. With a number of industry leaders speaking at the three-day event, eye care professionals will receive an exclusive insight into the thoughts of those at the forefront of optics. Sitting on the ‘Question Time’ panel, Specsavers director of professional advancement Paul Morris will tackle issues concerning the future of optics. One such topic of interest is the introduction of the new GDPR ruling; something which Morris is keen to address on the opening day in Birmingham.

‘During the discussion, I would like to talk about the governance that sits around the technology we use within our practices. By the time we get to Optrafair, GDPR will almost be live and I’m not sure whether the sector is fully aware of its responsibilities yet,’ he says.
