Leader of the Future Award: How Angharad Hobby is building on her success

There cannot be many young eye care practitioners who receive their first national award before they even leave school but Angharad Hobby did just that.

Leading a team of fellow pupils in a Young Enterprise project, Hobby formed a business that designed and manufactured products made from Welsh slate. The team was selected as the best Young Enterprise venture in Wales and went on to win the award for best product in the UK finals. As a result, she was selected as Young Enterprise Welsh Woman of the Year.

That was just the start of a succession of awards for Hobby, currently a pre-registration optometrist in a small group of independent practices in south Wales.
