It may not be everybody’s idea of holiday heaven, but Skegness – Skeggy, Skeg Vegas or Costa del Skeg, as it is known – attracts around 1.5 million visitors a year. With its clean Blue Flag status sandy beaches and scores of attractions, its no wonder Brits flock to this traditional Lincolnshire seaside town.

Like many coastal towns, Skegness has suffered from the effects of decades of decline and yet, during the holiday season it is bustling. From the pier, promenade, arcades and donkey rides on the beach to a model village, carnival parade, seal sanctuary, fantasy island park and even a festival, Skegness pulls out all the stops to keep its visitors entertained.
