Media-savvy Sulley shows the way

Assuming the role of BCLA president last summer came naturally to Anna Sulley. Sitting in the Association's Regent Street offices, with photos of past presidents adorning the walls, she tells me how enjoyable her year has been - admitting she has always been a bit of an organiser.

Sulley certainly is well focused. At the early age of six she remembers that after a trip to the opticians she made her mind up to become one herself. She qualified as an optometrist in 1990 and continues to practise, in addition to carrying out consultancy work for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care following her previous position as professional services manager at the company. 

A natural enthusiast, she was undaunted by taking on the role of president of the Association, which is perhaps best known for its well-attended clinical conference and exhibition. Nevertheless, she has found her term extremely busy.
