Preparing for your job interveiw

In the second of this series Richard Lonsdale of OPEN looks at how to make sure you perform well at interview

You have followed the steps outlined in the article “How to Create the Perfect CV” and have accepted the interview you have been invited to. You now have an agreed time, date and venue.

So what do you do now?

Research the Interviewers:-

There are four main ways this can be done, which can result in you having a better understanding of the types of individuals you will be interviewed by.

Google

Google is a powerful research tool. This search engine is widely used on a day to day basis to allow you to effectively search for any topic you wish to examine. To assist with the exploration to the background of your interviewers, it may be worth using Google. I think its’ results could surprise you by providing an insight into more information than you initially anticipated. It may permit you to search on a particular individual that could uncover their job title and show how they fit into the organisation. Google can provide press releases which can be a powerful indication of the direction the company, and it is always valuable to have a background understanding to show you are interested in the company.
