Relaxed in Snodland

A raft of high-tech dispensing equipment is following the latest generation of lenses into the practice. Chris Bennett travelled to Buchanan Optometrists, the first practice in the country to try out the Relaxed Vision system from Carl Zeiss

Anyone visiting an optical exhibition in the last two years could not have avoided the mass of dispensing technology that has been on show.

These have ranged from floor-standing or desk-mounted systems to palm pilot-type devices.

Many of the systems have followed in the wake of the latest generation of front and back surface freeform generated progressive lenses, but systems taking a broader approach to lenses, lifestyle and dispensing have also been introduced.
