The underlying trend in the ophthalmic frame market during the past two years has undoubtedly been increased use of metal as the primary material for construction. This trend, along with the overall shift towards more minimalist volume, have dovetailed nicely and the look is now being translated into sunglasses. It is a rare instance where it could be argued that ophthalmic trends have driven sunglass design.
By their very nature, bright and bold colours are tough to ignore, so it is hard not to miss the trend for big hues and textures.
