I had two patients recently that allowed me to put this free app to the test. Patient 1 (presented with a high myopic prescription (1), early presbyopia and a history of poor tolerance of mean sphere correction.

Now struggling with near vision, she had returned reluctantly to spectacles but was not happy with them. She had been told multifocal contact lenses would not be possible with her correction. Firstly, I calculated the vertex distance impact using the toric calculator (new calculation, 2).

This gave me some single vision options and the adapted correction for contact lenses (3). I then input the data into the multifocal calculator. This presented me with mean sphere options and, based on the characteristics of the eyes, I selected the Biofinity option (4). I also then ordered separately the correction in Proclear multifocal toric form (8.8/14.4 R-9.00/-0.75 x 120 L-8.50/-0.75 x 175 Add+1.00 right dominant). Note the calculator did not offer this option. I will let you know how we get on.
