Faces of fashion

Well established as the premier optical tradeshow in North America, Vision Expo East is becoming increasing global in terms of exhibitors and attendees. However, the show is still a rite of passage for fledgling companies and their wares.

Fashion designer Elena Kibalchich started up her sunglass label Gamine only a few months ago.

‘The company is based here in New York,’ said Kibalchich ‘I was studying fashion design in New York and have always been into designing women’s clothing and accessories. When we had the idea to do sunglasses, we found the factory and everything went very smoothly. It was fun and it worked well so we went ahead with it.
