20 lay members needed for GOC

​GOC advertises for 20 lay members to join hearing panel from November

GOC’s Governance Team has advertised for 20 lay members to join its hearing panel from November this year.

Members of the hearing panel will be required to determine allegations related to the fitness to practise of registered optometrists and dispensing opticians, registered students, and business registrants and bodies corporate.

The GOC has advertised the role as part time, needing no previous experience. The team will be looking for people who show ‘excellent listening and communication skills, objective analysis and judgement, robust evaluation and positive team working skills.'

A commitment of 30 to 40 days is required and remuneration for the role will be provided.
