Brits who need prescription glasses admit to not wearing them

A quarter of Brits who need prescription glasses admit to not wearing them as much as they should, according to the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).

The research highlighted how many UK adults have chosen not to wear glasses, even when they have been told that they need them.

A total of 17% of respondents have been told by a professional they need glasses but don’t have them, with one in five not believing glasses look good on them, 13% feeling embarrassed to wear them and 12% not wearing their glasses because they feel that they do not fit correctly.

ABDO followed this research with a reminder to always seek advice from a registered dispensing optician when purchasing glasses and to make them the first port of call for any eye issues.
