Alcon said its new dry eye treatment, Systane Complete, is effective for all three types of dry eye disease.
Launched at the BCLA in Manchester, the formula includes the active demulcent propylene glycol that is designed to instantly hydrate the aqueous layer to provide soothing relief and enhances the lipid layer to prevent tear evaporation, maintaining tear film integrity. Nano-sized lipid droplets migrate to replenish the top lipid layer of the tear film, covering more of the eye surface than formulations with micro-sized droplets, said Alcon.
