The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has appointed two new committee members, who will provide expert insight that informs the organisation’s clinical direction.
Kevin Gutsell, former ABDO board member, ABDO College tutor and former director of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians, joins the committee along with Joshua Smith, dispensing optician at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Speaking about the appointments, Jo Holmes, chair of ABDO’s National Clinical Committee, said: ‘I'm delighted to welcome both Kevin and Joshua. There was a very high standard of applicants making our choice tricky. I believe we have chosen two DOs who will bring the best skill set and complement the existing knowledge we already have on the team.’
