ABDO has launched a new campaign to raise the profiles of dispensing (DO) and contact lens opticians (CLO).
Part of the Not Just a DO campaign has highlighted that CLOs received training for Minor Eye Conditions Schemes and DOs have worked in the fields of sports vision or dry eye clinics.
The campaign has showcased a different DO every week and started with Simone Mason, ABDO sub-regional lead, performance lead for Primary Eyecare in West Midlands and LOCSU’s digital learning and support officer.
Antonia Chitty, head of communications at ABDO said: ‘The campaign arose from the feeling that DOs can be undervalued as a member of the practice staff. We would love the wider professions to understand the full benefits of having a DO on your team.’
