Adlens halts Taskmaster sales

Financial risks of scaling up manufacturing prevented continuation

British adjustable focus eyewear manufacturer Adlens has ceased production on its latest product, Taskmaster, which was launched in May.

The company said, despite positive feedback from existing Taskmaster users, the financial risks involved in scaling up manufacturing and marketing presented too great a risk to continue. As a result, existing product orders will not be fulfilled. The Taskmaster frame featured three-stage instantly adjustable focus lenses for near, intermediate and distance use.

A team from Adlens will now offer specialist optical consulting, lens design services for augmented and virtual reality, standard optical testing and improving quality and standards within ophthalmic supply chains.
