AIO Conference to address 'going private'

The AIO's conference will focus on transitioning to private practice

The Association for Independent Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (AIO) second conference of the year has been organised for October 9-10 at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth, and will focus in on the topic of transitioning to private practice.

An AIO statement said: ‘There has been a lot of open discussion on this topic in recent months and at the conference there will be a special focus on the pros and cons, and the practicalities of opting out of the NHS contract.

‘Of course, it is not feasible for some practices to even consider going 100% private and the conference will also feature sessions on how to optimise opportunities for these practices.’

Content on whether to become private or not has been organised alongside 28 CET sessions, a full exhibition and a social programme.
